What is a SAVE Promise Club?

SAVE (Students Against Violence Everywhere) Promise Clubs provide a space for young people to show their leadership, creativity, and passion for protecting their peers, schools, and communities from violence. SAVE Promise Clubs are student-led and are a powerful and empowering approach to violence prevention. When young people activate their agency and voice, model upstander actions and empathy, and lead awareness activities, schools and communities become safer.

SAVE Promise Clubs are standā€alone clubs or are embedded into an existing club, such as SADD, Student Council, FCCLA, or another student leadership, civic, or kindness club. Through SAVE Promise Clubs, youth are empowered to be leaders of change in ways that are age-appropriate and relevant to their peers. As a result of their work, SAVE Promise Clubs create safer, more positive school climates and caring, connected communities.

How to Get Started

Even though students plan and lead the SAVE Promise Club activities, they need at least one adult advisor for support. SAVE Promise Club Advisors typically spend 2-8 hours per month on club related activities. Among other things, Advisors support clubs with things such as:

  • Meeting and event logistics such as agendas, location, time, presenters, and guest speakers
  • Permissions, processes, and approvals from your administration and community
  • Project management and scheduling for activities and events

Once you activate your role, you'll be sent more detailed resources such as our Monthly Club Activity Guide and sample meeting agendas.
